Google Ads announced that Call Only ads now supports an option to include a link to advertiser website. In the same time Google renamed the offering from “Call Only Ads” to simply “Call Ads.”
Before, Call Only ads limited the click to only the headline, which will result to dial the advertiser phone number. The new option “visit website” will make the ad block size more important compared to the previous one.
Google Ads recommends to use the new feature in order to reduce the rate of wrong clicks and accidental calls (users who thought the headline will redirect them to a landing page on the website).
How To Activate the URL Feature in Call Ads?
When creating a new Call ad, there is a final url link to fill with the landing page you want users to land in. It’s noted as a “recommended” field. Remember to mention a HTTPS url in that field.
